The digital language labs will be helpful for the students to learn basic communicative English to advanced language skills including presentation skills, email etiquette, group discussion, and effective communication and writings.

Around a hundred KVS are going to be introduced with digital language learning by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. The first language lab was inaugurated recently at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Kendriya Vidyalaya. Talking about the benefits of digital language labs stated that the labs will be helpful for the students to learn basic Communicative English to advanced language skills including presentation skills, email etiquette, group discussion, and effective communication and writings.

Sharma further added that the content follows the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) which suggests a systematic approach of language learning as basic, independent, proficient, and teaches language according to the four crucial features of learning including listening, speaking, reading, and writing (LSRW) for better fluency.

About Digital Language Lab

The digital language labs are set up with technology hardware, language software, and lab infrastructure including workstations, PCs, headphones to create a digitally empowered learning environment to improve the command and proficiency of students over a language. These labs will enable each student to learn the language digitally at their own time. According to the official reports, the labs will accommodate 30 students each with one teacher.

To help students deliver proficiency in communication skills and develop the vocabulary, the labs will include integrated activities including intense listening and speaking practices, animated videos for proper articulation, syllable stress, and intonation modulation. It will not only make the learning process interactive but will also be engaging and immersive. The progress tracking will be done by teachers by generating reports of students’ performance in assessment sheets and assignments.
