AIBE 19 Eligibility Criteria 2024: The Bar Council of India (BCI) has revised the AIBE 19 (XIX) Eligibility Criteria 2024. The Council has released an official notification related to the AIBE Exam Eligibility 2024. The AIBE 19 Application Process 2024 is currently underway. Candidates must check the AIBE Exam Eligibility 2024 before filling the application form. The last date to register for AIBE 19 Exam 2024 is on or before October 25, 2024. AIBE 19 Exam Date 2024 is November 24, 2024.

The AIBE Exam Eligibility 2024 Notification carries all important details like educational qualification, nationality, age limit, and enrollment with the state bar council, etc.  As per the revised AIBE 2024 Eligibility Criteria, candidates who are in their final year of LLB/ BA LLB courses are also eligible from this year onwards to appear for the All India Bar Examination. Until now, only law graduates were allowed to appear for AIBE Exam. Along with this, the BCI has come up with major change in eligibility criteria, i.e. candidates do not need to have enrolment certificates from a state bar council to appear for AIBE.

Qualifying exam

Candidates who have passed or are in final year of a three-year LLB or five-year LLB degree are eligible to appear for the AIBE exam. Therefore, the academic qualifying exam for AIBE candidates is 

  1. 3-year LLB degree, OR
  2. 5-year integrated LLB degree

Minimum marks in qualifying exam

The BCI mentions no minimum marks are required for appearing in the AIBE exam. However, a candidate must secure a minimum percentage or grades in their law degree as prescribed by universities for further education. 

Age limit for AIBE exam

There is no upper or lower age limit for appearing in the All India Bar Examination. 

State Bar Council Registration/Enrollment 

A candidate who has not registered with their State Bar Councils as an Advocate can apply. As State Bar Council enrollment is no more mandatory for AIBE eligibility.  

AIBE 19 Eligibility Criteria 2024: Important Points

Candidates can check all important information released by BCI for AIBE 19 below:

  • The link for filling out the registration form remains the same for all candidates.
  • Candidates who are not yet enrolled with the State Bar Council but are law graduates and have obtained law degree, or are in the final semester of their 3-year or 5-year LL.B. degree course with no backlogs, or law graduates who are currently employed in some service or job but are not yet enrolled or have surrendered their enrollment on account of their job, such candidates must submit an undertaking. 
  • You can download this undertaking from the AIBE website or find it on the last page of the application form. After completing the undertaking, you must upload a scanned copy (not a mobile photo) of the signed document. 
  •  Candidates who are already enrolled and have an enrollment certificate must upload their self-attested enrollment certificate. The undertaking form is only for candidates who do not possess an enrollment certificate or are in the final semester of a 3-year or 5-year integrated LL.B degree course with no backlogs. 
  • If you are in the final semester of your 3-year or 5-year integrated LL.B. degree course, you must attach self-attested, scanned copies (not photos) of your marksheets for each semester. For 3-year LL.B. degree course candidates, submit marksheets from Semester-I to Semester-V. For 5-year integrated LL.B. degree course candidates, submit marksheets from Semester-I to Semester-IX. 
  • If you have passed your LL.B. degree course but have not yet obtained your Law degree, you must attach self-attested, scanned copies (not photos) of all your marksheets. For 3-year LL.B. degree course candidates, submit marksheets from Semester-I to Semester-VI. For 5-year integrated LL.B. degree course candidates, submit marksheets from Semester-I to Semester-X. 
  • Please ensure that all the required documents are properly scanned and uploaded in the prescribed form/undertaking. Failing to do so may result in the rejection of your application. Q:   What is the AIBE 19 Minimum Passing Criteria 2024?

A:

To qualify in the AIBE 2024 exam, general category candidates need to secure 40% marks, while SC/ST candidates need 35% marks. Note that the total marks will only be known after the final answer key is released, as if any wrong questions are found then they may be rejected. Q:   I have 42% marks in my final LLB exams. Can I apply for AIBE exam? Am I eligible?

A:
Based on the eligibility criteria, it appears that you may not be eligible to apply for the AIBE exam, as you have mentioned that you have secured 42% marks in your final LL.B. Exam. However, you may check with the respective State Bar Councils in your state, as the eligibility criteria may vary from state to state.

Q:   Can I apply for AIBE exams when my state bar council enrollment is under process.

A:

Yes, candidates could apply for AIBE exam if their enrollment process is in process. They are only required to provide enrollment number for AIBE application form. However, candidates will have to upload their enrollment Certificate once issued by their enrolled state bar council. During AIBE 19 examination process also, candidates will need to upload their enrollment Certificate properly in the applicant account, until then their result will be withheld.
