The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2022 is being held from 2 pm to 4 pm, in a pen-paper based test mode. The exam is being conducted in as many as 131 test cities in 25 Indian states. CLAT 2022 question paper will be based on five subjects - English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques. There will be multiple choices based questions (MCQs) from passages in all the subjects. Candidates appearing for CLAT 2022 need to carry the admit card and supporting documents. No candidate will be allowed without CLAT 2022 admit card. Moreover, candidates reaching late to the exam centre of CLAT 2022 will also denied entry. Therefore, candidates are advised to report at least an hour before the test timings.

Candidates need to carry the following items for CLAT 2022: 

  • Blue/Black Ball Point Pen 
  • Admit Card 
  • Any clear Original Photo Identity Card
  • Transparent Water Bottle 
  • Face Mask, Sanitizer, face shield, and hand gloves

The exam centre officials will not allow candidates to take any of the following items inside the examination hall: 

  • Mobile phones or Calculators
  • Digital watches, Sunglasses
  • Headphones/ Bluetooth earpieces 
  • Bags/ Wallets

    The Consortium of NLUs have published a press release for conduct of CLAT 2022 successfully. The answer key of CLAT 2022 will be issued by 12 pm on June 20.

    CLAT 2022 Live: Exam over at 4 pm, Students start leaving the exam centre after handing over OMR sheets

    CLAT 2022 got over at 4 pm sharp, candidates were able to leave the exam entre after OMR sheets were collected from them. 

    Students shared paper analysis for CLAT 2022 after exiting the exam centre. Many students claimed the question paper was lengthy, and some tricky questions in Logical Reasoning and Quants took more time. Overall paper analysis for CLAT 2022 is Moderate, and candidates are expecting a cut off of 90-110 marks.

    CLAT 2022 Live: Exam taking instruction, How to fill OMR sheet, and marking scheme

    Candidates taking CLAT 2022 need to fill the OMR sheet carefully or there will be negative marking (even if the ovals are not filled properly). Check below: 

    Type of questions asked in CLAT 2022 question paper:

    English Language
    • Proficiency will be tested based on questions related to comprehension passages and grammar
    • There will be passages of 450 words based on the contemporary, historically significant fiction and non-fiction writing
    • You will have to compare different viewpoints, draw out inferences and conclusions and also understand the meaning of words and phrases given in the passages
    Current Affairs including General Knowledge
    • Proficiency will be tested based on your awareness about various aspects of static General Knowledge and Current Affairs
    • Important topics for GK are Arts & Culture and History
    • Important topics for Current Affairs are national and international events of last one year
    • There will be reading passages of 450 words based on news, journalistic sources and other non-fiction writings
    Legal Reasoning
    • Proficiency will be tested based on your general awareness of contemporary legal and moral issues
    • Questions will be based on legal matters, public policy and moral philosophical enquiries
    • There will be reading passages of 450 words based on fact-based situations or legal, public policy and moral scenarios
    Logical Reasoning
    • Important topics for the section are relationshipsanalogieslogical sequences and arguments
    • There will be reading passages of around 300 words
    • You need to critically analyse the arguments given in the passage, identify the pattern of reasoning and then conclude the arguments
    Quantitative Techniques
    • The section will carry short sets of passages based on facts, graphs, propositions, pictorials, textuals or diagrammatic representation of numerical data
    • Important topics for the section are ratios and proportionsbasic algebramensuration, and statistics

    CLAT 2022 Marking scheme 

    The marking scheme for CLAT paper will be as under: 

    • For every correct answer, one mark will be awarded

    • For every incorrect attempt, 0.25 marks are deducted from the total score - 150

    • No marks are awarded or deducted for questions left un-attempted

    CLAT 2022 Live: Students report difficulty in reaching exam centres due to ongoing student protests and border blocking by Police officials

    Candidates report not being able to reach exam centres as roads are blocked and borders closed by state police owing to ongoing student protests. 

    CLAT 2022 amid #AgnipathProtests

    Some students have been requesting the exam authority to postpone exam, as Agnipath protests esclated in various parts of the country:

     

    However, CLAT Consortium released a press notification on June 18 around 8 pm stating that CLAT 2022 will be held as scheduled, and no change in the exam date or timings will be done. The exam officials ensured that there will be no hinderance in conducting due to protest situation.
