The sudden drop in the CLAT exam takers has caused concern amongst the legal education community. Early, the Consortium used to conduct the law entrance exam after the 12th-grade board exams. However, now, the exam is scheduled for December putting a major impact on student’s preparation.
CLAT 2024: While there are nearly just 24 hours left for the CLAT 2024 exam to begin, reports claim that law aspirants appearing for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) have decreased by 20 percent due to the shift in examination dates. The sudden drop in the CLAT exam takers has caused concern amongst the legal education community. Early, the Consortium used to conduct the law entrance exam after the 12th-grade board exams. However, now, the exam is scheduled for December putting a major impact on student’s preparation.
Previously, CLAT examinations were conducted after the 12th board exams, giving students a minimum of two months for CLAT preparation. However, with the exams now scheduled for December, students find themselves preoccupied and burdened by their pre-board exams and practicals, leaving them with inadequate time to adequately prepare for CLAT.
Will Consortium revise CLAT schedule?
An abrupt change in the CLAT exam schedule has left law aspirants stressed and pressurized. With class 12 being important and pre-board and board exams starting, the pressure is enormous among students.
The revised CLAT exam schedule has recorded a decline in CLAT test-takers. Considering that the shift in CLAT Dates is concerning students at large, it appears that the authorities might start thinking towards a new schedule for CLAT exam in the upcoming years.
