CNLU students not ready to give exams in offline mode

CNLU students are opposing the university authorities' decision to conduct an offline exam from October 20.

Chanakya National Law University's (CNLU) students have submitted a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor to oppose the university's decision to conduct the semester examinations in the offline mode starting from October 20.

The students are not willing to give examinations in the physical mode. In the memorandum, they have highlighted that CNLU was the only university that decided to conduct the examination in the physical mode and all other national law universities are conducting an online exam.

The main reason why the students want to give an online examination is the fear of catching the Covid-19 infection as if the exam will be conducted in the offline mode, many candidates will come from states like Maharashtra and Kerala where the pandemic is still not fully controlled. The students have urged the university VC for an online examination. 

CNLU Patna is a state-level National Law University (NLU) that was established in the year 2006. It is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) granted it as an "A" grade university.
The university offers BA LLB (Hons) (Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Legislative Law Hons), BBA LLB (Hons)(bachelor of business administration- bachelor of legislative law Hons), LLM (Master of Laws), PhD (Doctor of Philosophy), LLD (Doctor of Law) and DPhil (Doctor of Philosophy) programmes under several specialisations of Law.
