Only less than 20% of law colleges affiliated with Devi Ahilya Vishwa Vidyalaya (DAVV) have completed the re-affiliation process which has delayed the first-semester examination of four different undergraduate law courses.
Only three out of 16 law colleges affiliated with DAVV have completed the re-affiliation process. As many as 2000 first semester students in BA LLB, BCom LLB, BBA LLB and LLB courses are waiting for the examination, as reported by TOI.
DAVV is considering to take exam in April
The examination of law courses has already been delayed by nearly four months. Hence, the university is considering conducting the examinations for the first-semester undergraduate law courses in April after taking an undertaking from the colleges.
Dr Ashesh Tiwari, exam controller of DAVV said, "In order to ensure that students don't undergo loss of time due to delay caused by the process, the varsity has decided to conduct the exams with undertaking and results will only be declared after colleges submit required affiliation documents from Bar Council of India (BCI)."
Earlier the university was to conduct the examinations in the month of December but colleges failed to submit the required documents despite an extension of deadlines.
The university only provides affiliation to the honours programmes and as affiliation fees for programme is more than regular degree programmes, many colleges had not opted for the same.
