Pro Bono Club of National Law University Delhi has adopted the village Kangan Heri, located in South West Delhi District.
Under the Department of Justice's Nyaya Bandhu, the Pro Bono Club of National Law University Delhi (NLUD) has adopted a village, Kangan Heri, for promoting equal access to justice.
National Law University Delhi tweet reads, "NLUD's Pro Bono Club is happy to announce that it has adopted the village Kangan Heri, located in South West Delhi District, for promoting equal access to justice."
Under this arrangement, NLUD in collaboration with the Department of Justice, Government of India, will conduct legal awareness camps & provide free legal aid to the village residents.
The adoption program was attended by Prof Dr Srikrishnadeva Rao, VC, NLUD; Prof (Dr) Harpreet Kaur, Registrar; Dr Bharti Yadav, Asst. Prof. of Law; Nyaya Bandhu, Ms. Sneha Sharma, Program Manager, DoJ; Sh. Deepak Mehra, Councillor of Kagan Heri among other residents of the village.
The arrangement was formalised earlier this week, in the presence of Prof. Srikrishna Deva Rao, VC, NLUD, Prof. (Dr.) Harpreet Kaur, Registrar, NLUD, Dr. Bharti Yadav, Asst. Prof & Coordinator, NLUD Pro Bono Club, Ms Sneha Sharma, Prog. Manager, Department of Justice, GoI along with Mr Deepak Mehra, Councillor of Kagan Heri and other village residents including Mr Jagdish Yadav, Mr Raj Kumar Yadav, Pt. Bhoj Raj, Pt. Yad Ram, Pt. Kartar Singh, Ms. Chandra Prabha and Mr. Aman Bhardwaj.
Through this initiative, National Law University Delhi will advance its vision of promoting equal access to justice, social empowerment and legal awareness, said NLUD official statement.
