National Law University Delhi Invites applications for AILET 2024; Exam Duration now 120 minutes

Check Revised AILET 2024 Exam Pattern for LL.M. and Ph.D. (2024); New Ph.D. Degree in Social Sciences

National Law University Delhi has opened its applications for AILET 2024 for admission into its B.A.LLB. (Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D. Programmes for the 2024-2025 admission cycle.

AILET – ALL India Law Entrance Test is conducted annually by NLU Delhi to admit students into its three aforementioned programmes. NLU Delhi has made changes in the exam pattern for LL.M. and Ph.D. programmes (2024) and has introduced for the first time Ph.D. degrees in Social Sciences (2024). The pattern for B.A.LLB. (Hons.) remains unchanged. Moreover, the AILET will now be held for the duration of 2 hours (120 minutes) for all programmes.

The highlights of modifications

1. Duration of the exam: AILET will be held for a duration of 2 hours (120 minutes) unlike the previous norm of 1.5 hours for Batch 2024 of all programmes i.e., B.A.LLB. (Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D.

2. Change in exam pattern of LL.M. Programme: The entrance tests will be Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) based only. The test paper will consist of 100 MCQs with each question carrying 1 mark. All the 100 MCQs will be from the different branches of Law.

3. Introducing Ph.D. Degree in Social Sciences: NLU Delhi has launched a Ph.D. Degree in Social Sciences viz., Political Science, Sociology, Criminology, Economics, and English for 2024.

4. Change in exam pattern of Ph.D. Programme: The entrance test for Ph.D. will be Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) based only. The test paper will consist of 100 MCQs, with each question carrying 1 mark, 50 MCQs will be from the subject of Research Methodology. For Ph.D. in Law, the remaining 50 MCQs will be from different branches of Law. For Ph.D. in Social Sciences, the remaining 50 MCQs will be from different branches of Social Sciences.

AILET 2024 Important dates:

Date of Exam: Sunday, 10 December 2023 between 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Last date to submit AILET 2024 applications: Monday, November 13, 2023.

For Foreign Nationals and candidates in the OCI/PIO Category: The last date for submission of online application form is Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

AILET 2024 Fee

Interested candidates should apply online on payment of application fee of Rs.3500/-(Rupees Three Thousand Five hundred Only). Application fee in case of SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) is Rs.1500/-(Rupees One thousand Five Hundred Only). Below Poverty Line (BPL) applicants of SC/ST category are exempted from application fee.

AILET will be conducted at the following cities: Bengaluru, Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Kota, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram, Shimla, Siliguri, Varanasi and Visakhapatnam.
