NLSIU Bengaluru Celebrates 32nd Convocation

National Law School of India University conducted its 32nd Annual Convocation at Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram Bhavana, located on Outer Ring Road, Sumanahalli Circle, Bengaluru. The event was presided over by Dr. Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, Chief Justice of India and Chancellor of the University, who conferred degrees on the graduates and delivered the Presidential Address.

1,079 Students Graduate Across Various Programmes at NLSIU

This year, 1,079 students graduated from various academic programmes at NLSIU, including:

  • 2 from the PhD Programme
  • 52 from the Master of Public Policy Programme
  • 90 from the Master of Laws Programme
  • 85 from the Bachelor of Arts and Laws (Honours) Programme
  • 850 from the Online & Hybrid Education Programmes, which encompass the Master of Business Laws Degree and seven Postgraduate Diploma programmes

Gold Medals To Outstanding Students

During the NLSIU convocation, the University also awarded a total of 48 gold medals to outstanding graduates, including 9 BA LLB (Hons) recipients, 6 LLM graduates, 1 MPP graduate, and 1 MBL graduate from the Online & Hybrid Education programmes.

The University also awarded certificates to the top-performing students in Postgraduate Diploma programmes from the graduating PACE cohort. Additionally, a gold medal was presented for the 27th Annual H.M. Seervai Essay Competition in Constitutional Law, organized by NLSIU, to Abhinav Ravi, a second-year BA LLB student from NLU Delhi.

The Chief Guest of the event, R. Venkataramani, Attorney General for India, delivered the Convocation address and presented medals and prizes to the top performers across various academic programmes. Manan Kumar Mishra, Chairman of the Bar Council of India, also addressed the gathering. Earlier in the ceremony, Prof. (Dr) Sudhir Krishnaswamy, Vice Chancellor of NLSIU, presented the Annual Report.
