NLUO Odisha has signed an MOU with Startup Odisha, Government of Odisha at Make in Odisha Conclave – 2022.

NLUO inks MoU with Startup Odisha to provide legal assistance

National Law University Odisha signed an MOU with Startup Odisha, Government of Odisha on December 1, 2022, at Make in Odisha Conclave - 2022. The MOU will be in effect for a period of 3 years w.e.f. December 1, 2022. The terms and conditions of the MOU will be executed through Lextech – Centre for Law, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, NLUO.

The exchange of MOU happened in the thematic session of the Start-up Odisha in the presence of MSME Minister Pratap Keshari Deb, MSME Department Principal Secretary Saswat Mishra, Shri Omkar Rai, Executive Chairman, Odisha Hub and other officials of the Ministry of Skill and Development, Government of Odisha and Prof Ved Kumari, Vice-chancellor, NLUO, Prof Rangin Pallav Tripathi, Registrar, NLUO and faculties of NLUO. 

The main objective of the MOU is to provide all types of legal assistance to Startup Odisha, conduct seminars, workshops, startup weekends, training programmes in collaboration with Startup Odisha, collaborative research and teaching, research findings and publications, as stated by NLUO's official statement.

NLUO conducted Awareness Programme on Rights of Children

On the occasion of World Children’s Day on November 20, 2022, the Centre for Child Rights (NLUO) conducted an awareness programme on “Convention on Rights of Children, 1989” for students of The Kalinga English Medium School, Kalarabank, Odisha on November 18, 2022.

The participants of the programme consisted of students of the sixth standard. This was the very first time that students of the school were made aware of the rights of children.

As part of the programme, the students were made aware of the definition of the child; needs and rights of children. The discussion was done on various rights enshrined in the Convention of Rights of Children, 1989 such as the right to survival, right to protection, right to participation and right to development. The students were also made aware of the respective guiding principles for the rights of children.
