NLUO is all set to organise an NCW-sponsored National Seminar on “Women Police Station/ Mahila Thana (Working, Efficiency and Effectiveness)” on October 28, 2022.
Centre for Women and Law, National Law University Odisha (NLUO) is organising a National Seminar on “Women Police Station/ Mahila Thana (Working, Efficiency and Effectiveness)” tomorrow, October 28, 2022. The seminar is sponsored by National Commission for Women (NCW).
The seminar will be conducted in hybrid mode between 8 am to 4:30 pm.
The primary objective of the seminar is to promote an exchange of opinions about the issues and challenges facing society regarding Gender-based violence and the role of Gender targeted policing interventions (Mahila Police Thana, Women’s Help Desk at Police stations and more women in as well as deploying more female officers to these WHDs and enforcement agencies, improves frontline officer responsiveness to women, as well as crime and crime reporting) to combat the same, said NLUO official statement.
The seminar will provide a forum for elite professionals to share their experiences and research-based facts and figures on Gender targeted Policing intervention strategies in today’s time. In particular, discussions will focus on the possibilities to improve the efficiency of the current state of Gender Targeted Policing Interventions whilst ensuring that the society remains sufficiently robust from a holistic perspective.
The seminar will also encourage regional and national communication and collaboration; promote professional interaction and lifelong learning, recognize outstanding contributions of individuals, and encourage scholarly researchers to pursue studies in Gender-based violence and Gender Targeted Policing interventions and their working, efficiency and effectiveness.
