NUJS: Apply for Nani A Palkhivala Memorial Essay Competition by May 31

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Kesavananda Bharati Judgement, NUJS in collaboration with Nani A. Palkhivala Memorial Trust and supported by Tata Group presents Nani A Palkhivala Memorial Essay Competition.

The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences Kolkata in collaboration with Nani A. Palkhivala Memorial Trust and supported by Tata Group is all set to present Nani A Palkhivala Memorial Essay Competition. The last date to register is extended to May 31, 2023.

NUJS shall host a Nani A. Palkhivala Memorial Conclave where select participants will be provided with an opportunity to present their essays before distinguished guests. Selected entries shall be published by the NUJS Law Review in a special edition.

The theme is - Application of Basic Structure Doctrine to Contemporary Issues. The subthemes are - Scope of Judicial Review, abd Powers of Promulgating Ordinances.

The prize money under each sub-theme of the Essay Competition is- for the Winner: INR 75,000, for Runners up - INR 50,000 and for the second runner up INR 25,000.

Admission open for BA LLB (Hons.) & LLM Programme

WBNUJS invited applications for BA LLB programme admission under - J&K Residents Category (2 seats), and NRI/NRI Sponsored Category (20 seats). To apply the candidates need to deposit a non-refundable processing fee of an amount of INR 2000 only by May 26, 2023.

For admission under Foreign National Category in the Academic session 2023-2024, the last date to apply is June 12, 2023. The list of applications received will be published on May 30, 2023. The first merit list of the selected candidates, along with the waiting list, will be published on June 5, 2023.
