Leh coaching centres reopen with 25% capacity, vaccination mandatory for students & staff

In order to begin offline classes, the coaching centres are required to submit the details of students' names, addresses, parentage, and other details to the district magistrate office within seven days from the date of reopening of coaching centres.

Considering a decrease in the number of novel coronavirus cases, the tuition/ coaching centres in Leh have been allowed to reopen. However, the seating capacity has to remain 20 students (25 per cent) only as a precautionary against COVID-19 spread. The official order released by Ladakh district administration informs,"Only the asymptomatic students/ teachers/ staff shall be allowed to attend the classes.”

In order to begin offline classes, the coaching centres are required to submit the details of students' names, addresses, parentage, and other details to the district magistrate office within seven days from the date of reopening of coaching centres.

Apart from following mandatory COVID-19 norms such as wearing masks, using sanitizers and following social distancing, the students/ teachers must also be vaccinated to attend the physical classes. "Ensure handwashing facilities, availability of key supplies like face masks, sanitiser, disinfectants, soaps, etc at the centres at all times," the order read.

Earlier, the Jammu and Kashmir administration released fresh guidelines regarding the adoption of online classes up to the college level. The authorities also encouraged optimal use of virtual mode for conducting official meetings. The administration also directed the education institutions, colleges, schools, polytechnics, and coaching centres for civil services, engineering and NEET to adopt an online medium of teaching.

The order said, “There shall be no in-person teaching. Educational institutions shall be permitted to direct attendance of vaccinated staff for administrative purposes only.” adding that the head of the institution must follow COVID Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and ensure that guidelines related to social distancing.
