Lucknow schools timings revised for Classes 1 to 8 amid cold waves

According to the revised timings, classes will begin from 10 am and end at 2 pm. The revised timings will remain in effect till January 10, 2023.

Lucknow School Timings Revised: The Basic Education Department of Lucknow has revised school timings for students of Classes 1 to 8 in all schools. The decision has been taken amid severe cold weather. According to the revised timings, classes will begin from 10 am and end at 2 pm. The revised timings will remain in effect till January 10, 2023.

An official released by the office of basic education stated, “After the approval of the District Magistrate, in view of the extreme cold wave, the timings of all the aided, recognized, schools of all the boards from class 1 to 8 in Lucknow district from January 2, 2023, to January 10, 2023, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm are being changed in the interest of the student.”

“Please ensure strict compliance of the said order. The authenticity of this order can be checked by the school management, parents and students on the district's website. Winter vacations of council schools will remain the same,” it added.

School timings were also changed by the Haryana government earlier in November 2022 starting from December 1. According to the revised timings, single-shift schools will operate from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm whereas in double-shift schools, first shift will run from 7:55 am to 12:30 pm and second shift from 12:40 pm to 5:15 pm.

Recently, the Uttar Pradesh government changed the school timings from 10 am to 3 pm. Meanwhile, Authorities in Ghaziabad and Punjab also issued notices to change school timings due to low visibility in heavy fog.
