Maharashtra government has announced its decision to introduce integrated and bilingual textbooks in all Marathi medium schools from the next academic session. School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad in her latest tweets announced that integrated and bilingual textbooks will be introduced for the students of Class 1 onwards.
The School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad also informed that she has already instructed Balbharti to come up with high-quality textbooks that would display English text along with Marathi words and sentences. This exercise would enable children to learn basic English vocabulary, grammar and syntax, Gaikwad added.
The minister added that the government is already running a pilot project is already running in 488 model schools of Maharashtra. On January 13, the preparedness of the initiative was also reviewed by the state Education Minister along with senior department officials.
Meanwhile, an education technology forum has also been established by the state government that would enable them to exchange ideas on the use of technology for the improvement of school education.
Experts from information and technology sectors will be there on the Maharashtra Education Technology Forum will act as a policy think tank for school education. While announcing the preparedness and setting up of education technology forum School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said, “independent evidence-based advisory framework on technology-based interventions in school education.”
