FTII introduces two new short courses in Smartphone Journalism and Screen Acting
Interested in pursuing a short course in screen acting or on how to make short films professionally from your smartphone? FTII has rolled out two new short courses. Take a look.
The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) has introduced two new short courses which will be conducted in Aurangabad. FTII has introduced a short course in Smartphone Journalism and Screen Acting. The two courses will be conducted on the MGM University campus in Aurangabad.
Screen Acting Course
FTII, under it Skilling India in Film & Television (SKIFT) initiative and in association with Mahatma Gandhi Mission (MGM) University, Aurangabad has announced a short course in Scree Acting which will be conducted from April 10, 2020 to May 2, 2020. The duration of the course in screen acting is 20 days. Students who are interested in the short course in screen acting will have to apply by downloading the application form from the official website of FTII.

About the Course
The Screen Acting course will be based on ‘Method Acting’ as per Stanislavski’s system. The course covers the basics of acting such as:

Scene Work |
Classes commence with Yoga exercises for concentration, which will be followed by professional actors and directors conducting workshops. Students will be exposed to how acting is done in various genres, how theatre works. Students who are interested can apply online.
Smartphone Journalism
FTII has announced a short course in Smartphone Journalism and the duration of the course is 7 days. The smartphone journalism course will be conducted on MGM University campus in Aurangabad. Interested candidates can apply online on or download the application form from the official website of FTII.

About the Course
Selection will be done on the basis of first come first serve. However, the course will only be conducted if the minimum strength of 40 participants is reached. The short course will focus on the following aspects:
Knowing what is smartphone journalism |
Exploring the potential of the smartphone |
Different modes of shooting with a smartphone |
Tools available for shooting more dynamic shots |
Software for recording and editing |
Editing and adding sound |
Text and various template for making creative videos |
Dubbing |
Chroma key editing |
Making a complete short film on a smartphone |
Classes will commence from April 3, 2020 onwards. Candidates will have to apply and pay the fees in order to take the short course by FTII. The medium of instructions will be in English and Hindi.
FTII JET
The FTII JET 2020 has been successfully conducted for all courses offered at the Institute of February 15 and 16, 2020. Candidates await their results which will be released in the month of May, 2020. Students can go through the following link on the FTII Entrance Exam.
