IIMC to release second merit list soon; last date of counselling is November 14

The IIMC will release a second merit list soon and the last date to complete the counselling session is till November 14, 2020. Check the notice released here.

The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) has stated that a second merit list will be released to fill the vacant seats left after the first counselling round and the second merit lists will be released soon. For students who are selected in the second merit list, the last date to complete the admission process will be till November 14, 2020. The last date to verify the documents and pay the programme fees was till November 6, 2020.

IIMC will commence the 2020-21 academic session in the third week of November, 2020, and students who have secured a seat will be notified about the academic calendar, syllabus and other instructions through email from the concerned department.

Recently, IIMC was under the limelight as many students claimed errors in the first merit list and several glitches were reported regarding how the entrance exam was conducted. The IIMC Entrance Exam was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on October 18, 2020, and the results were declared on October 31, 2020.

After the first merit list created a controversy, IIMC released a tweet admitting the list had technical errors. Here is the tweet released by IIMC.

For the first time, the IIMC Entrance Exam was conducted in online mode i.e. is through a Remote Proctored Test (RPT). Candidates had to give the entrance exam from their homes and were monitored online. The exam pattern was changed and the exam format was Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Classes will commence from the third week of November, 2020, onwards.
