Jamia Millia Islamia offers option for students to apply under Sports Category

Jamia Millia Islamia is now offering students who want to apply for admission to the varsity under the Sports Category for the 2020-21 academic year. Students who have excelled in the field of sports and have represented the National/State/University level can apply. However, the students are required to submit a certificate which should be issued by the bodies recognised and funded by the Ministry of Youth Affairs (MYAS). Students can apply under sports category for Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) courses except for Faculties of Engineering & Technology, Architecture, Dentistry, AJK MCRC.

The application window to apply under the sports category will be available from August 10, 2020, to September 16, 2020. Admissions under the sports category will be restricted to the following games which are as follows:

Cricket	Boxing
Badminton	Basketball
Athletics	Football
Hockey	Shooting (Air Rifle)
Table Tennis	Tennis
Volleyball	Wrestling

Students who have applied under the sports category will be provided 5% relaxation on successful clearance in the admission process. The last date to apply for admission to all courses and programmes offered at Jamia Millia Islamia is till August 20, 2020. Admission to all programmes will be done on the basis of clearing the JMI Entrance Exam. Students who clear the entrance exam, will have to appear for a Personal Interview (PI). Merit lists will be released and students who make the cut, are offered admission to the course applied for. How to Apply for JMI Entrance Exam

Step 1: The candidate will first have to visit the official website of Jamia Millia Islamia.

Step 2: Click on ‘Study at Jamia’ which will be present next to the logo of the varsity.

Step 3: From there, the candidate has to click on the link ‘Apply for 2020/21 UG/PG/MPhil/PhD’.

Step 4: Register online on the portal of Jamia Millia Islamia.

Step 5: After registering, the candidate can proceed to apply for the course interested in offered at Jamia Millia Islamia.

Step 6: Fill in your personal, academic details required. Upload the images according to the size and dimensions.

Step 7: Once uploaded, proceed to pay the application fee via online mode.

Step 8: Once the payment has been made, the candidate has successfully applied for JMI Entrance Exam.
