5:51 pm: CAT 2014 day 1 ends. Candidates come out of the test centre.

 

4:28 pm: CAT 2014 second slot going on.
For now, parents and relatives of CAT 2014 aspirants engage in lively discussion about the upcoming six new IIMs outside the test centre.

2:50 pm: Entry for CAT 2014 second slot closes. Candidates proceed toward the test lab.

1:30 pm: Names of candidates displayed for CAT 2014 for second slot at entry gate (as opposed to display of roll no. range in the first slot).


1:30 pm: CAT 2014 second slot entry begins. Invigilators checking admit card and photo ID at entry point.

1:05 pm: Another CAT aspirants states that the paper was difficult and lengthy. Mixed reviews of CAT 2014 Analysis.

12:50 pm: Glitches being reported. Few candidates experienced difficulties in the testing console. 'My system stopped four to five times. We were shifted to a different room n system. Though there was no time loss, the experience was a little baffling,' says Tusshar, a CAT 2014 aspirant who faced the situation..

 

12:30 pm: CAT Exam 2014 first slot ends. Candidates report that the paper was lengthy with easy to moderate level.


12:15pm: CAT 2014 to end in 10 minutes. Around 20 Candidates have arrived so far for second slot.

 

12:00 pm: 'I am feeling very nervous. Quant DI and LR sections are fine. But m unsure about verbal. I took a year off To prepare for CAT 2013. Hope it pays of,' says Gaurav Kumar CAT 2014 aspirant, second slot.

11:41 am: Candidate for CAT 2014 second slot start arriving at the centre.

11:30 am: Parents react to CAT 2014 - 7:30 am reporting time too early.

10:50 am: Around 450 aspirants are taking the test in the Greater Noida test centre. A total of 50,000 students are currently appearing for CAT 2014. On day one, almost 1 lakh candidates will take the test, spread across two slots.

 

9:30 am: CAT 2014 exam begins.

9:25 am: Aspirants arriving late to CAT 2014 test centre sent back.

9:15 am: Aspirants arriving late to test centre amounts to some chaos.

 

8:51 am: Entry to CAT 2014 test centre closed. "No more entries will be allowed," informs invigilator and TCS officials at the centre.

 

8:50 am: 'For a change there's no queue outside the CAT 2014 test centres. Everything is going very smoothly,' says Manish Harodia of Genesis Mentors from Pune

8:20 am: "Get latest and original photo ID for smooth admission in to the test centre," invigilator at the main gate tells CAT 2014 aspirants and Shiksha.com.

8:15 am: "Pen, mobile fone, ghari, electronice item, picche chor do. Agar pakde gaye to bad mein dikat ho jayegi (Leave pen, mobile phones, watches and electronice items behind. If caught, you'll be in trouble)," says the invigilator on the main gate of the test centre.

8:00 am: Students still arriving at the CAT 2014 test centre.

7:47 am: Documents such as Admit card and Photo ID being checked at the gate.

7:40 am: Entry to CAT test centre commences.

7:30 am: Shiksha.com reaches CAT 2014 test centre.

 

 

And thus it begins!

On November 16, the two slots of CAT 2014 exam will be held. The first slot is from 9:30 am to 12:20 pm while the second slot is from 3:00 pm to 5:50 pm. The reporting time for slot 1 is 7:30 am while that of slot 2 is 1:00 pm. The second CAT exam 2014 will be held on November 22, 2014.

Almost 1.97 lakh candidates have registered for the exam this year. This year CAT 2014 exam pattern is witnessing a tremendous change. Candidates have to attempt 100 questions in 170 minutes. One can shift between sections at any point during the exam.

Before the exam why does cat takers want students to sit for 2 hours before the system . dt is irritating .it has affect the exam . ar was difficult & lenthy . & di was calculative

Thanks for the info. Some of the candidates live quite far from the centre. I met one guy who lives in Karnal but got the test centre in Greater Noida. He arrived almost 3 hours before.
