And the D-Day has finally arrived!

CAT 2015 exam is being held in more than 650 centres across 136 test cities in India. More than two lakh candidates (218664 registrations) are all set to appear for the exam in two slots.

CAT 2015 Second Slot Analysis

CAT scores are used for admission to various management courses. More than 100 top colleges in the country use CAT scores for admission.

The first slot, i.e. the morning slot, will commence at 9:00 am, while the second slot, i.e. the afternoon slot, will begin at 2:30 pm.

12:41 pm: The following glitches were reported by various test takers Shiksha spoke to:

  • The computers were not accepting the required password. Therefore candidates were unable to log in on time.
  • Few students faced issues in their system (PC) while attempting the test. One student's system switched off while some candidate's system got stuck. However, the invigilators were quite helpful.
  • Another candidate complained that the mouse was not working.

12:30 pm: Most students Shiksha spoke to confirmed that were three sections. But the first two sections were divided into two parts.

  • Verbal section had 24 questions in first part and 10 questions in second part.
  • LRDI section has two parts with 16 questions in each part - total 32 questions.
  • Quant section had 34 questions.

Logical Reasoning was reported to be difficult. Verbal, DI and Quant were easy. Overall, the paper was easy. Non-MCQ questions were also easy.

12:00 pm: CAT 2015 exam first slot ends. Students come out of the centre.

11:30 am: Students for CAT 2015 second slot start arriving at the centre.

10:30 am: Some relatives of aspirants choose to stay behind at the exam centre. Rest leave the centre.

9:00 am: CAT 2015 exam commences.

Due to extreme bad weather conditions, students are facing difficulty in finding the exam centre. We can still spot some students arriving at the centre. However, they are not being allowed inside the entry gate now.

  

8:45 am: Entry closes sharp at mentioned time. CAT aspirants are still arriving at the centre.

8:30 am: Many CAT aspirants are facing trouble in finding the exam centre. Low visibility and fog are adding on to the trouble. According to a parent, fog is acting as a major obstacle in reaching the exam centre. Moreover, there are no sign boards nor are there people to guide about the directions - this is making it extremely difficult for the students to reach the centre.

 

8:00 am: Many students are facing issue with the roll numbers mentioned on the notice board. "The number are not placed systematically which is leading to too much confusion", said a parent. Adding on to this students are also facing trouble in searching for their exam rooms.  

 

7:30 am: Entry for CAT 2015 begins. Students slowly enter the centre.

 

7:00 am: Team Shiksha has reached a test centre in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. We can see that some CAT 2015 aspirants have already reached the centre and figuring out the details (roll no., etc) from the security at the gate. Candidates are currently queing up in front of the centre. Entry will begin after 8 am, informed a member of the test centre security team.

It is extremely foggy in the Greater Noida centre with low visibility. Students are slowly reaching the centre.
