CAT 2022 exam held on November 27, recorded an attendance of over 2.22 lakh candidates. According to the reports, over 86 per cent candidates appeared for the exam held at about 400 test centres in 150 cities across India. The total number of candidates registered for CAT 2022 was 2.56 lakh. This year, the CAT had recorded a rise in applications too. About 11 per cent more applications were received for CAT 2022 as compared to CAT 2021.

The CAT exam was conducted by IIM Bangalore. The exam was held in three shifts. The first shift was held from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM, the second shift was held from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM and the third shift was held from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. There was no change in the CAT exam pattern from last year. Like last year, the question paper this year had 66 questions divided into three sections - 24 in VARC, 20 in DILR and 22 in Quantitative Aptitude. The difficulty level of the CAT 2022 exam across all the three shifts was moderate. According to experts, a raw score of 98-99 marks can fetch 99 percentile.
CAT 2022 answer key and response sheet are expected to be release anytime in the first week of December 2022. The option to challenge the official answer key will be given to candidates. To raise objection against any official answer, candidates will have to fill an online form at the iimcat.ac.in website. CAT 2022 result will be announced most likely in the first week of January 2023.
