In a significant move to maintain transparency and fairness in the examination process, DAVV has decided to deploy retired government officials as exam observers. These officials will be stationed at sensitive centres, where past issues such as cheating, insufficient facilities, or lack of surveillance have been reported.
DAVV MBA Admission 2025: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) is set to roll out a new examination system starting with its MBA third-semester exams on February 4 and the first-semester exams on February 11, 2025. This reform aims to tackle malpractices such as cheating and paper leaks, with a special focus on sensitive examination centres.
Retired Government Officials to Oversee Examinations
In a significant move to maintain transparency and fairness in the examination process, DAVV has decided to deploy retired government officials as exam observers. These officials will be stationed at sensitive centres, where past issues such as cheating, insufficient facilities, or lack of surveillance have been reported. The observers will remain present for the entire duration of the three-hour exam, ensuring strict adherence to examination protocols.
The observers' duties will include monitoring the opening of question papers, overseeing the distribution of answer sheets, and ensuring that answer booklets are properly sealed and sent for evaluation. Their presence is expected to minimize malpractices and enhance the integrity of the examination process.
60 Retired Officials Apply for Observer Roles
In response to the university’s invitation for applications from retired government officials, DAVV received 60 applications. Of these, approximately 90% were shortlisted, including former officers from a variety of departments such as the electricity department, municipal corporations, and administrative services. This is the first time that retired officers have been officially appointed to monitor examinations at DAVV.
The observers will be rotated across two to three exam sessions at different centres. Their responsibilities will also include ensuring that CCTV systems at exam centres are functioning properly and closely monitoring both student and staff conduct throughout the examination.
Expansion to Undergraduate Examinations
While the new exam system will initially be applied to MBA exams, DAVV plans to expand this system to undergraduate exams in a phased manner. The initiative will first be implemented for final-year undergraduate exams in March, followed by second-year exams in April, and first-year exams in May. This step is part of the university's broader strategy to address and curb issues like cheating and unauthorized activities that have plagued previous exams, especially in MBA, BCom, BBA, and law courses, where multiple paper leaks were reported last year.
Enhanced Supervision for MBA Exams
Q: Does DAVV require CUET?
Q: Can a student get admission to DAVV without CUET?
Admission without CUET (Common University Entrance Test) is possible for some courses only like LL. M., and others. but for these courses, CUET-PG is accepted by the university. So, students can get admission without CUET but the student have to change the course they are opting for. So, the best solution is to prepare in advance for the CUET and get admission in the relevant course. Seats are limited and candidates applying through CUET are many. Only good preparation can assist in getting admission to various courses like BTech, BSc, B.A. and others.
Q: What is the eligibility for MBA at DAVV?
The eligibility for MBA at DAVV is mentioned below along with the tuition fees:
Courses | Total tuition Fees | Eligibility |
---|---|---|
MBA |
INR 30,800 - INR 2.4 lakh
|
Class 12 with 45-50 %
Graduation with 45-50 %
Exams: CMAT, CUET-PG
|
For the upcoming MBA exams, which will be held across approximately 50 examination centres, the university expects around 18,000 students to appear for the first and third-semester exams. Nearly 15% of these centres will have retired government officers acting as observers. Their presence is seen as a crucial step towards ensuring that only deserving candidates are evaluated, and the examination process is conducted smoothly and impartially.
Focus on Academic Integrity
The university's decision to implement this new system of examination supervision comes after several years of incidents involving paper leaks and other malpractices, particularly in professional and undergraduate programmes. With this new approach, DAVV is hoping to strengthen academic integrity and promote a fairer evaluation system, benefitting students who have put in the effort and are deserving of their results.
By introducing stricter monitoring and leveraging the experience of retired government officers, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya aims to enhance the credibility of its examination system and ensure that the process is transparent, equitable, and trustworthy for all students.
