DEA 2024: BIMTECH hosts Annual International Conference on Data Envelopment Analysis

Jointly organized by BIMTECH and the Centre for Business Analytics in Practice (CBAP) at Surrey Business School, UK, the conference featured a series of pre-conference workshops and parallel sessions.

Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), Greater Noida, successfully hosted the Annual International Conference on Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA2024) from November 18 to November 21, 2024. The theme of this year’s conference, "Advancing DEA: Bridging Theory and Practice," attracted more than 80 global leaders and industry experts, creating a dynamic platform to explore the latest advancements in Data Envelopment Analysis and its diverse applications across various sectors.

The workshops featured globally renowned experts including Prof. Subhash Ray from the University of Connecticut, Prof. Victor Podinovski from Loughborough University, and Prof. Ali Emrouznejad from the University of Surrey. These sessions offered groundbreaking insights into topics like DEA for Measurement of Capacity Utilization, AI DEA: Combining DEA with Machine Learning Techniques, and Enhancing DEA Models by Production Trade-Off.

Main Conference Sessions: Exploring Advanced DEA Applications

The main conference, held from November 19 to 21, 2024, was a rich experience featuring three plenary sessions, several parallel workshops, and an industry session. Distinguished speakers, such as Prof. Subhash Ray, Prof. Victor Podinovski, and Prof. Emmanuel Thanassoulis from Aston University, led insightful presentations and discussions. Topics ranged from advanced DEA modeling techniques to the integration of machine learning with DEA. A special segment dedicated to Industry-Academia Collaboration addressed key regulatory challenges, efficiency metrics, and the role of sustainable practices in enhancing DEA applications. This segment aimed to foster meaningful connections between academic research and practical industry applications.
