The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM Lucknow) celebrated its 40th Foundation Day with a series of events attended by faculty, staff, students, and esteemed guests. The day's activities commenced with a tree plantation drive on campus. This initiative saw the participation of the Director, Deans, faculty, staff, and community members, underscoring the Institute’s commitment to a clean, green, and sustainable environment.
Reflections on Four Decades of Excellence
Professor Archana Shukla, Director-in-Charge of IIM Lucknow, reflected on the institution's journey and achievements. “IIM Lucknow's vibrant community is a testament to our strong foundation. From a modest start with 20-25 individuals, we have evolved into a center of excellence, thanks to everyone’s dedication. Our commitment to sustainability and robust infrastructure positions us for future success, continuing to lead in innovation and research,” she stated.
Professor Shukla also highlighted recent developments, including the startup incubator supporting 111 incubatees and the Centre of Happiness, which focuses on community well-being. New initiatives include the Young Faculty Researcher Endowment and a Centre of Excellence for Blockchain Technology, aimed at fostering over 100 startups in Uttar Pradesh.
Grand Evening Celebration and Recognitions
The evening concluded with a grand event honoring employees who have completed 25 years of service. The celebration also featured a vibrant cultural extravaganza, promoting unity and festive spirit within the IIM Lucknow community

Professor Vikas Srivastava, Dean (Programmes), IIM Lucknow, spoke during his welcome address: “Reaching 40 years is a significant milestone for any institution. For IIM Lucknow, it signifies a journey towards greater achievements and a promising future. The IIML EWC organized a range of activities to mark this occasion, and the community’s collective efforts ensured their success. We extend our gratitude to our dedicated faculty and staff and warmly welcome the new members joining us.”
Sports Events Highlight the Build-Up to the Foundation Day
Leading up to the Foundation Day, IIM Lucknow hosted a month-long series of sports events, including Swimming, Powerlifting, Table Tennis, Chess, Carrom, and Badminton competitions from July 12 to 15, 2024. A Cross-Country Run took place on July 21, 2024. These events showcased the community’s sportsmanship and camaraderie, with a prize distribution ceremony held on July 25, 2024.

Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow has been ranked at the seventh spot in the NIRF 2024 rankings. Moreover, as per the media reports, the summer placements for batch 2024-26 was concluded with all 576 PGP and PGP ABM students receiving internship offers. The highest domestic stipend stood at INR 3.95 lakh per month and the highest international stipend offered was INR 1.75 lakh per month. Additionally, the IIM Lucknow average and median stipends stood at INR 1.43 lakh per month and INR 1.50 lakh per month, respectively.
The average package offered in 2024 placements stood at INR 30 LPA for PGP and PGP ABM, INR 20.14 LPA for PGP SM, and INR 25.53 LPA for IPMX.
