This partnership aims to launch industry-aligned Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) courses in Jewelry Design & Manufacturing (JD&M) to tackle the prevailing skill gaps in the industry.

In a significant move to bolster skill-based higher education within the gems and jewellery sector, Medhavi Skills University (MSU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International School of Gems and Jewellery (ISGJ) in Surat. This partnership aims to launch industry-aligned Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) courses in Jewelry Design & Manufacturing (JD&M) to tackle the prevailing skill gaps in the industry.

Innovative Courses with Apprenticeship Focus

The newly designed courses will be embedded with an Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme (AEDP), equipping students with comprehensive industry knowledge and hands-on experience. The collaboration seeks to integrate traditional craftsmanship with modern industry demands, providing a robust educational framework tailored to the evolving needs of the gems and jewellery sector.

MoU Signing Ceremony

The MoU was signed by Kuldip Sarma, Co-founder and Pro-Chancellor of MSU, and Kalpesh Desai, Founder and CEO of ISGJ. The signing ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Sajeev Kumar S, Vice President – Industry Relations at MSU, and Riddhi Vachhani, Academic Director at ISGJ. Following the MoU signing, an insightful industry visit allowed stakeholders, industry leaders, and students to experience advancements in jewellery manufacturing processes firsthand.

Bridging Traditional and Modern Practices

This collaboration aims to bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and the modern industry's requirements. The JD&M courses, structured around the AEDP framework, will combine academic rigor with essential industry exposure, preparing students to excel in the rapidly changing landscape of jewellery design and manufacturing.

Expressing enthusiasm for the partnership, Kuldip Sarma highlighted the gems and jewellery sector's crucial role in India's economy, stating, “With a workforce of 4.6 million, the sector significantly contributes to India’s GDP. Medhavi University, through nine schools of study, offers UG, certificate, and Diploma courses to students across the Medical Lab Technology, Optometry, and various other streams. Some of these are:

A:

Yes, BSc available at Medhavi Skills University. The university offers Bachelor of Science (BSc) programme at UG level. There are various specialisation available including Radiology and Imaging Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Hospitality and Hotel Management, Optometry etc.
To get in to BSc programme, candidates must have passed Class 12 from any recognised board.
