The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta has declared the CAT results. Candidates can now check and download their CAT scorecard from the official website, iimcat.ac.in. With the declaration of CAT 2024 results, MBA aspirants are now focusing on the expected CAT cutoff for admissions to various IIMs and other leading b schools across India.

According to experts, the CAT 2024 exam was comparatively easier than previous years. Easier difficulty level will likely depict a rise in the CAT cutoff scores, especially for premier IIMs, including BLACKI, and tier-1 colleges such as FMS, Delhi. General category candidates without a steller profile may need to secure a percentile above 99 to expect calls from top-tier institutes. For other IIMs, the cutoffs are also anticipated to rise significantly.

While CAT remains the most sought-after entrance exam for MBA aspirants, those unable to meet the CAT cutoff targets need not lose hope. Several other entrance exams provide pathways to reputed business schools across India. Some of the alternative MBA admission tests are listed below along with the timeline:

1. TANCET 2025: A state-level MBA entrance exam for admissions to colleges in Tamil Nadu. TANCET 2025 registration is yet to start. Candidates can expect TANCET 2025 to be held in March.
2. TGICET 2025: Designed for MBA aspirants aiming for admissions in Telangana. TGICET 2025 registrations will start in March, while the exam will likely be held in May.
3. XGMT 2025: Conducted by XIM University for its MBA and PGDM programs. The last date to fill the XGMT application form 2025 is December 25. XIM University will conduct XGMT 2025 on January 25.
4. MICAT 2025: MICA conducts MICAT for admission to its PGDM program. MICA is facilitating MICAT 2 registration until January 11, 2025. Phase 2 exam is scheduled to be held on January 25. To be eligible for MICAT, candidates must have appeared for any of the following exams:
   • CAT 2024
   • XAT 2025
   • GMAT (2023 onwards)

5. APICET 2025: APSCHE administers MBA admissions in the state through APICET. The entrance exam for the 2025 session will likely be held in the month of May. APSCHE is yet to release the exam notification.

Besides the entrance exams mentioned above, candidates can also keep track of additional phases of the NMAT 2024 exam. The test window for NMAT 2024 closes on December 20. For the past few years, GMAC has been facilitating an additional window in January for those who did not attempt the NMAT exam thrice during the test window.

With the CAT results being declared now, aspirants must monitor the CAT cutoff trends, and admission notification from their target mba schools.
