Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s S P Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) is inviting applications for its Ladies in Family Enterprise (LiFE) program. This enriching short-term initiative aims to empower women from business families who have little or no current experience in business, including wives, daughters-in-law, mothers, and daughters of business owners.
Program Details
The LiFE program spans four months, featuring sessions conducted twice a week in a hybrid format (both offline and online). Participants will gain a foundational understanding of business dynamics and the relationship between family and enterprise. The program also encourages women to explore their roles within family businesses or consider launching their own entrepreneurial ventures, supported by family and networks. Sessions are led by seasoned academicians, industry experts, and alumni, with a flexible structure to seamlessly fit into participants’ daily lives.

Professor Tulsi Jayakumar, Executive Director of CFBE and Chairperson of the Post Graduate Programme in Family Managed Business (PGPFMB), emphasized, “Ninety percent of businesses in India are family-owned. Women in these families often play a silent yet crucial role. LiFE aims to uncover these hidden gems by providing structured learning about the business landscape. Our goal is to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to operate a business while building their confidence and empowering them within family enterprises.”
Eligibility Criteria
- Women from business families with little or no experience in their family business
- Minimum undergraduate degree holder
- Over 30 years of age
- Proficient in English, as it is the medium of instruction

- Session Frequency: Twice a week for four months, followed by a business plan presentation
