Construction works of various medical colleges in the state need to be expedited, said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has once again talked about his mission of one district-one medical college and he also said that various new medical colleges under construction in the state need to be completed soon.

UP CM's tweet reads, "With the resolution of one district-one medical college @UPGovt Continually progressing. Medical college construction work in Bulandshahr, Lakhimpur Kheri, Gonda, Auraiya, Lalitpur, Sonbhadra, Kanpur Dehat, Pilibhit, Bijnor, Chandauli, Kaushambi, Kushinagar and Sultanpur needs to be expedited."

He also talked about Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University where he said it is expected that the construction work should be faster.

His tweet says, "Similarly, speedy construction is expected in Atal Medical University. Action will be taken by fixing the accountability for the delay. These are projects of public interest, delay in this is not acceptable. Take it in mission mode. In each case, it should be completed by June 2023."

Six new medical colleges to be established under PPP

Last week, the UP government released a press release that said that the state is all set to get six more medical colleges under the PPP model. These colleges will come up in Mahoba, Mainpuri, Bagpat, Hamirpur, Hathras, and Kasganj and investors for these colleges will be selected soon. The Central government will provide INR 1,012 crore as financial support under the VGF scheme and the total cost of these new colleges will be INR 1,525 crore and each college will get nearly INR 160 crore.
