After writing to the Director of AIIMS Delhi, now resident doctors from INIs have moved to Supreme Court over the cancellation of INI CET PG July 2022 open round counselling.

Five doctors team including 2 top FAIMA (Federation of All India Medical Association) executives from the Institutes of National Importance (INIs), Dr Suvrankar Datta (AIIMS Delhi) and Dr Devesh Dubey (AIIMS Bhopal) as petitioners have moved to the supreme court against the cancellation of INICET PG July 2022 open round counselling.

The doctors' delegation has urged the court to give directions to AIIMS to conduct INICET PG July 2022 open round counselling as huge number of seats in AIIMS Delhi JIPMER and many other INIs are vacant after 2nd round of INICET counselling. As per information from various residents of AIIMS Delhi, the vacant seats are -:7/11 Community Medicine, 1/4 Paediatrics, 3/7 Ophthal, 5/6 Pathology, 1/? Surgery, 3/3 Pharmacology, 5/6 Physio, 1/? Infectious Disease (MD), AIIMS Ophthal: 3/7, AIIMS Path: 6/7, AIIMS Peds: 1, JIPMER Surgery: 5, JIPMER Medicine: 3/12, JIPMER RandOnc: 6/8, 4/4 Pharm, 6/8 RadOnco, 4/5 Orthopedics, 4/11 Surgery, 3/12 Medicine, 3/4 Community Medicine, 2/? In the letter to AIIMS Director, the doctors said the cancellation of the counselling round came as a shock for residents of INIs who were eagerly waiting for new residents to join the departments and to replace the residents who have passed out of the departments in the last 6 months. 

The vacant seats will create more workload on the existing workforce which was already over burdened during the two-year pandemic period, said the doctors.
