AIIMS Kalyani: CID initiates probe against Subhas Sarkar for recruitment irregularities

The Crime Investigation Department (CID) of West Bengal Police has initiated a probe against Union Minister of State for Education Subhas Sarkar, BJP’s Ranaghat MP Jagannath Sarkar and Bankura MLA Niladri Sekhar Dana for alleged recruitment irregularities at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Kalyani.

A few days before, an FIR was registered against these BJP leaders. The FIR named eight persons on basis of a complaint lodged by Sariful Islam on May 20, as reported by Indian Express.

Allegation is MLA Dana's daughter given data entry job without recruitment test

As per the complainant, MLA Dana's daughter was given the job of the data entry operator at AIIMS Kalyani at the monthly salary of INR 30,000 and she has not appeared for any recruitment test for the post.

The case was filed under Sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust), 120-B (criminal conspiracy), and 34 (acts in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code and under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

“The FIR was registered at the Kalyani police station in Nadia district and we have taken over the probe,” said a senior CID official.

BJP MP Jagannath Sarkar said, "If it is said that I have given jobs, it is for the unemployed people. I will continue to give jobs to the unemployed people again in future if we are voted to power. I have not taken money in lieu of giving jobs to anyone," as reported by Economic Times.
