AIIMS Patna organises Orientation Program for MBBS students

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Patna organised an orientation program for MBBS students on October 3, 2023.

"An #orientationprogram for the integration of the 2nd MBBS curriculum in the subjects of Pathology, Pharmacology, and Microbiology was conducted at AIIMS Patna under the supervision of our Executive Director and CEO, Prof. Dr. Gopal Krushna Pal, on October 3, 2023," reads a tweet by AIIMS Patna.

This one-day curriculum integration program was attended by three subject experts: Dr. Pampa Ch. Toi, Professor of Pathology (JIPMER); Dr. Manikandan, Professor and Head of Pharmacology (JIPMER); and Dr. Apurva S. Shastri, Additional Professor of Microbiology (JIPMER, Puducherry).

According to the new NMC guidelines, the integration of subjects has to be an important hallmark of teaching and training in the medical curriculum at all levels, added the official statement.

Also, the White Coat Ceremony for the 12th batch of MBBS (2023) students at AIIMS Patna was organised on October 3, 2023, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Gopal Krushna Pal, Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Patna. Dr. G. K Pal emphasized the responsibilities and dignity of the white coat of a medical student during the MBBS course. The institute's academic oath, emphasizing the importance of commitment to discipline and dedication to the medical profession, was taken by the students during the ceremony. Dean Academics Dr. Bhadani, Medical Superintendent Dr. C.M. Singh, Dean Research, Dean Student Affairs, Dean Examination, Registrar, and Head of Medical Education also participated in the white coat ceremony.
