While launching multiple projects worth INR 56 crore in Mansa during a virtual event, Union home minister Amit Shah revealed his plans to open a medical college at Mansa in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar district so that the students of the region do not have to go to even Gandhinagar for medical education.

He mentioned various developmental works worth INR 1,182 crore carried out in Mansa by the BJP government in the last five years.

“There is a public hospital in Mansa. We are going to modernise that hospital with the help of the state government and some industrial houses. If it is found convenient, we will also build a medical college in Mansa so that MBBS aspirants in the vicinity do not have to go to Gandhinagar to get medical education,” the minister said, as reported by Indian Express.

“I was born in Mansa, studied in Mansa and grew up in Mansa. I am so deeply indebted to the place that it cannot be repaid for generations. I will never forget the library of Mansa. It has contributed immensely at the start of my student life,” he added.

The projects launched by him include the renovation of Chandrasar lake, linking of other waterbodies and filling them with water from the Narmada, and underground sewerage network, an official release informed.
