AMU VC Releases CBME Practical Pharmacology Book for MBBS

AMU VC Releases CBME Practical Pharmacology Book for MBBS

Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor, Prof Mohammad Gulrez released the third edition of the book, “CBME Based Practical Pharmacology” (For MBBS) with added competencies, jointly written by Prof Farida Ahmad, Dr Jameel Ahmad, Dr Bushra H Khan and Dr Shujauddin.

Appreciating the book, Prof Gulrez said this is a valuable practical manual for undergraduate MBBS students as it is based· on the current competency-based medical education curriculum and I am sure it will be of great help to the medical students.

The Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Prof Veena Maheshwari said that the manual covers the topics like medical ethics, rational use of medicines, essential medicine list, P-drug concept and prescription writing.

Prof Rakesh Bhargava, Principal, of JN Medical College pointed out that the latest prescription format and exercises as per NMC guidelines have been added in the book and all the topics of Practical Pharmacology have been methodically devised in sequence.

AMU Registrar, Mr Mohammad Imran (IPS) was also present during the release ceremony.

Dr Jameel Ahmad said that through this book the students will be able to inculcate new competencies which are mandatory while attending patients with medical ethics.

Olympiads winners of AMU felicitated

The Syedna Tahir Saifuddin School (Minto Circle), Aligarh Muslim University organized a prize distribution ceremony for the winners of various competitive events, including the national level Olympiads.

Mr Faisal Nafees, Principal of the school said that during the session 2022-2023, the S.T.S School organized various Silver Zone Olympiads and more than 200 students participated in these events. A total of 33 students received medals in different Olympiads.

Asif Ali, a student of Class VIII-A1 got the gold medal for achieving distinction and securing the 25th Zonal Rank in National Science Olympiad. He also got a gold medal in International Mathematics Olympiad, International Reasoning and Aptitude Olympiad and a silver medal in International Mathematics Olympiad.

Mr Faisal Nafis, while congratulating the winners, urged the students to take part in all kinds of curricular and extracurricular activities and work hard to achieve excellence. He appreciated the role of Mrs. Samina Yusuf Khan (Olympiad Coordinator) who prepared and encouraged the students to take part in such events. Nasreen Fatima (Cultural Coordinator) conducted the programme.
