The state government has increased the retirement age of the faculty members of the government medical colleges from 65 years to 70 years to augment the availability of experienced doctors for educational and medical services. Also, the government decided to sanction INR 136.8 crore for the implementation of 'Free Drugs and Consumables including Tea Gardens' scheme for 2022-23.
