AYUSH Counselling 2022: 22 candidates join BSMS at NIS

22 candidates have joined the BSMS course at the National Institute of Siddha through AYUSH Counselling 2022 in the academic year 2022-2023.

The National Institute of Siddha (NIS) has notified that the UG course in Siddha Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS) has been started in NIS from the current academic year 2022-2023. Necessary regulatory approvals were granted from the state government, Ministry of Ayush, NCISM and university affiliation.

As many as 22 candidates have joined the course in this institute through AYUSH Counselling 2022 which includes 2 students from outside Tamilnadu. Prof. Dr R. Meenakumari, Director, of the National Institute of Siddha has handed over the provisional allocation orders to the selected candidates.

NIS inks MoU with ICMR-NITM Karnataka

Recently, NIS has signed MoU with ICMR-National Institute of Traditional Medicine (ICMR-NITM) for academic cooperation and research partnership. The MoU was signed between Prof.Dr.R.Meenakumari Director, NIS and DG (Addl.Charge) CCRS and Prof. Dr.Subarna Roy, Scientist G & Director ICMR-NITM, Belagavi, Karnataka.

This MoU is expected to result in the development of collaborative research in the areas of clinical research, pharmacology, molecular biology, ethnobotany, invitro cell line studies, and health system research besides the integration in clinical practice and conduct of training/teaching programmes.

In December last year, the Dept. of Noi Naadal at National Institute of Siddha organized a five days Naadi Workshop & Hands-on training. All the 2nd-year PG scholars and Regular PhD scholars from NIS have participated in this programme. Five days of this workshop planned with eminent personalities as resource persons who are all experts in naadi examination and clinical implementations.
