Ayush NEET UG Counselling 2023: Student Union urges reduction in cut-off percentile

All India Students Union has written a letter to the Chairperson of National Commission for Homoeopathy and thanked them for reducing the minimum percentile criteria for Ayush NEET UG Counselling 2023 by 5 percentile across the categories to fill the vacant seats.

The letter highlighted that after the second round of Ayush NEET UG Counselling 2023 concluded, a significant number of seats remained vacant. The student union said that it is essential that the government ensures a fair process for all medical aspirants by lowering the qualifying cut-off percentile to a reasonable level for participation in the ongoing counselling.

AISU added that it is worth noting that this year the government reduced the NEET PG 2023 cutoff to zero percentile for the remaining rounds of counselling. The union is pleased with a similar decsion in Ayush NEET UG Counselling 2023..

Earlier, on November 9, 2023, National Commission for Homoeopathy had reduced the percentile criteria of NEET UG 2023 and AIAPGET 2023 for the academic year 2023-24. For NEET UG 2023 and AIAPGET 2023, the percentile was reduced by 5% which resulted in the minimum qualifying percentile for UR/EWS to be 45, for OBS/SC/ST, it was 35, for UR/EWS-PwD - 40, and for OBC-PwD/SC-PwD, and ST-PwD, it is 35.

"The minimum cut-off percentile for EWS-PwD category shall remain unchanged i.e. 40 percentile as was earlier and the cut-off date for admission in undergraduate course shall be November 30, 2023, and that for the postgraduate course shall be December 16, 2023. This is one time measure and applicable only for the current AY 2023-24," stated National Commission for Homoeopathy.
