Bihar: Katihar Medical College students get SUSPENDED for protesting against NEXT Exam
While there is a nationwide protest going on against the NEXT EXAM, the medical students of Katihar Medical College in Bihar reportedly got suspended after they peacefully protested against the upcoming exam.
An entire batch of the Katihar Medical College in Bihar has been suspended after they protested against the upcoming National Exit Test.
"A “SUCCESSFUL” protest? Students at Katihar Medical College, Bihar, protested peacefully against #NEXTEXAM & got SUSPENDED in return. Entire batch suspended for a minimum of 15 days! Evicted from hostels too! This contravenes Article 19 of the constitution, giving us a #RightToProtest," tweeted FORDA INDIA.
The medical college said to the protesting students, "Your such group activity, procession, shouting slogans, media briefing without permission has been viewed seriously and considered a serious misconduct. Such an irresponsible act is not at all expected from a medical student who is going to be a doctor to serve humanity in future. In such a situation it is fully justified to impose stringent punishments."
The institute said considering it as the first offence of such nature, their career and presuming they will not act in any way prejudicial to the interest of discipline in future, they debarred as many as 6 students from attending all the academic and clinical classes/activities with effect from July 11, 2023, for a period of 15 days. They all are students of 3rd Professional MBBS Part II Session 2019-20.
These students are also directed to leave the college/hostel premises within 24 hours and they are not allowed to visit the college during this period of suspension.
