Announcing the MBBS vacancy, CENTAC Puducherry has stated, “Based on discharge proceedings carried out by Health Dept. against the candidates who have reportedly furnished Fake NRI certificates, 1 candidate has been recommended for discharge from Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital, Puducherry (SMVMCH). Accordingly, Special Stray Round Registration for one vacancy mentioned above is open under Management Quota as NRI Quota Merit list has already been exhausted during Stray Round.”
For the BAMS courses, there are three seats under the Government Quota and seven seats under the Self Supporting Quota. Since the Ministry of AYUSH has announced the reduction of the NEET UG 2024 cutoff for AYUSH courses by 15 percentile in each category, fresh registrations are invited for candidates willing to take admission to BAMS courses in Rajiv Gandhi Government Ayurveda College, Mahe in the UT of Puducherry for the vacancies after Stray Round.
“Unfilled seats in BAMS Government Quota will be converted to BAMS Self-Supporting Quota seats in this round. Candidates who have already applied for Government Quota may now opt for Self Supporting Quota but will be considered for allotment after exhausting the existing merit list,” stated CENTAC.
CENTAC NEET 2024 Counselling Stray Vacancy Round Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria to participate in the CENTAC NEET 2024 counselling Stray Vacancy round are as follows:
- Candidates should not be holding any seat in All India or State Quota after Stray Round
- Candidates who have not been allotted any seats in Round 3 or Stray Round in All India Quota or State Quota, or have not joined any institute.

Q: What is the schedule for the CENTAC NEET counselling 2024?
The CENTAC NEET counselling 2024 schedule has not been announced yet, apart from the registration process, which is being conducted from July 28 to August 8, 2024. It is estimated that the other events such as release of merit list, choice filling and seat allotment result will be conducted from the second week of August 2024. Based on past years' trends, it is estimated that there will be three to four rounds of counselling. Accordingly, the schedule for CENTAC NEET 2024 counselling will be from July to November 2024.
Q: Is there any age limit to participate in the CENTAC NEET counselling process?
While there is no upper age limit for participating in the CENTAC NEET counselling process, a lower age limit is applicable, as per the NEET UG eligibility criteria. Candidates must be of at least 17 years of age as on December 31 of the year of admission. On the other hand, ther is no upper age limit for participating in the CENTAC NEET counselling for any of the courses.
Q: Can students participate in state level and national level NEET counselling process simultaneously?
Yes, candidates can participate in both the national level NEET counselling for the 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats and the 85 per cent State Quota seats. However, if a candidate has already joined an institute, then he or she will no longer be eligible to participate in other state/national level counselling. Moreover, they will also not be eligible to participate for the next round of NEET state counselling once they join an institute.
