As per reports, an eight-membered CBI team has raided AIIMS Bhubaneswar to probe alleged irregularities in the tender process of the pharmacy store.
Sources revealed that the team of the CBI carried out the raid at a pharmacy store on the premises of the premier hospital. Massive irregularities were alleged in the tender process of the pharmacy store, as reported by Daily Pioneer.
All the records of the medicines purchased were examined while officials also interrogated the pharmacy store owners over the tender process. Reportedly, the team seized many incriminating documents during the raid. The Central agency is trying to ascertain whether the tender process was made as per the standard guidelines of the Government.
“There have been allegations that the businessman failed to meet the requisite condition in the tender and there were irregularities in the tender process itself. Besides, irregularities were noticed in giving medicines to patients under various schemes such as the Odisha government’s Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana and the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat Yojana. The CBI made this raid to ascertain the veracity of the allegation,” said sources, as reported by Telegraph India.
The hospital authorities reportedly remained tight-lipped over the issue. A further detailed report is awaited in this case.
