The panel set up by the Dharmapuri Medical College to probe into the alleged ragging incident that pushed the victim to attempt suicide has confirmed ragging, all four seniors are reportedly booked.

Recently, Dharampuri Medical College was in news as one of the students was found unconscious one week after he lodged a complaint with the anti-ragging helpline. The victim tried to attempt suicide as he was depressed after repeated incidents of ragging. After the incident, the college has set up a panel to probe into the matter and also four pre-final year students who allegedly ragged the victim got suspended and two hostel wardens also resigned.

As per the latest report, the panel has found the ragging allegations to be true and a police complaint has been registered against the four students as per the anti-ragging law. The victim is being treated for the injuries and he is reportedly still in a depressed state of mind.

The college had suspended the four students from their third year and permanently from the hostel and also relieved two hostel wardens of their duty as they failed to protect the student from ragging.

After the dean of the college has filed a written complaint against the four students, the police are on the lookout for these four students, as reported by Medical Dialogues.

The incident took place at a time when recently the National Medical Council (NMC) has provided strict guidelines for protecting medical students against ragging.
