Dharmendra Pradhan virtually inaugurates Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Government Medical College and Hospital
Odisha Government has approved to name the Nehru Shatabdi Hospital of MCL as ‘Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Government Hospital’, which will function as the future teaching hospital of the proposed Medical College.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan virtually inaugurated Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Government Medical College and Hospital today.
He said that today marks a memorable day for the state. The Odisha government after careful consideration has approved to name the Nehru Shatabdi Hospital of MCL as ‘Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Government Hospital’, which will function as the future teaching hospital of the proposed Medical College. The government has issued a Notification in this regard on December 4.
The State Government has approved the setting up of a new Medical College, namely Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Medical College & Hospital at Talcher. In preparation for the functionalisation of the new Medical College, the existing Nehru Shatabdi Hospital of MCL is being taken over by the Government.
After careful consideration Government have been pleased to name this hospital as the “Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Government Hospital”, which will function as the future teaching hospital for the proposed medical college, read the notification.
Odisha Medical Education: Latest Updates
Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET) Odisha was established as Head of Department. The body is responsible to improve the medical education and impart training to medical personnel in the state which involced UG, PG, students, and dental training.
Recently, 102 Assistant Professors joined Odisha Medical Education Service. They will serve in government medical colleges in different districts.
