Free online NEET, JEE Coaching to Class 11, Class 12 students in Odisha
The state government is providing free online NEET, and JEE coaching in the virtual mode in institutions’ smart classrooms with interactive panels.
Odisha government started offering free online coaching for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) entrance examinations to class 11 and 12 students in the state.
The coaching is being provided in the virtual mode to equip the students with the academic skills for these national-level entrance examinations for the medical and engineering courses, said an official, as reported by The Statesman.
Earlier, the government had allowed the institutions to utilise available funds from the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) account or Higher Secondary School (HSS) development fund as per the existing finance department guidelines for the functioning of smart classrooms, officials added.
Stipend of medicos increases in Odisha
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved the increase in the monthly stipend of nursing, pharmacy, and allied medical students. The revised stipendiary allowance is as follows - for Pharmacy – Rs 500 against Rs 250 earlier, Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM) – Rs 2,000 against Rs 1000 before, B Sc (nursing) – Rs 5,000 for internship against Rs 2500 earlier. Revised allowance now for M Phil in Clinical Psychology will be Rs 10,000 against Rs 7000 earlier and the same for M Phil in Psychiatric Social Work at Rs 10,000 against Rs 7000 received earlier, according to a statement issued by the government.
The stipend enhancement will encourage students to extend better services to the people. This will further strengthen health services in Odisha, Chief Minister Patnaik said in a statement.
