GIMS likely to begin 1st session for BSc Nursing this month
The Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) is expected to commence the first session of BSc Nursing this month.
The Greater Noida-based college, Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), has started the counselling process for two courses with a total student intake of 60 seats. After the counselling gets concluded, it is expected that GIMS will start its first session of BSC Nursing this month.
The Counselling process of two courses is likely to end by this week.
As per News 18, Brigadier Dr Rakesh Kumar Gupta, the director of GIMS has said that the counselling process for all seats is being conducted at the government level as per the government norms. The seat will be given after the selection of students and if the ongoing Covid-19 situation remains as it is by end of January, the session will begin in the nursing college soon after the final step.
He added that the government has approved for starting the nursing college. The Counselling was earlier scheduled to be conducted on December 29, but due to the increasing number of Covid-19 cases, it is now scheduled to take place in January 2022.
The entrance examination for GIMS BSc nursing was held last month. Amid the increasing Covid-19 cases, the college administration is suspicious of beginning the session on time.
Uttar Pradesh Nurses and Midwives Council had granted permission to GIMS to start the first government nursing college in Gautam Budh Nagar in December last year. The nursing college is named College of Nursing, GIMS, and it would be affiliated with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Lucknow.
The government has also approved the third session of MBBS in GIMS. To start with, the session will have 100 seats and 50 seats are reserved for EWS students.
