Gujarat introduces bond policy for medical students applying to AIQ seats
Gujarat's health department has introduced the bond policy for medical students applying for undergraduate and postgraduate courses on AIQ basis from 2022-23.
Until now the INR 40 lakh bond policy was only mandatory for the state-quota students. However, now after a recent announcement of the National Medical Commission regarding the schedule for the admissions in postgraduate medical courses, the Gujarat health department has introduced a ‘bond policy’ for medical students applying for undergraduate and postgraduate courses on an all-India quota basis in the state-run colleges of Gujarat.
The new circular will cover students from all across India applying for medical courses for the academic year 2022-23, as reported by Vibes of India.
The State Commissioner of Health, Medical Services and Medical Education announced the circular on September 14, 2022. As per the circular, students have to give a bond for serving the prescribed period and follow the bond policy. The circular was sent to the medical colleges of Gujarat to inform them that the bond policy is applicable to All India Quota students taking admission in undergraduate and postgraduate medical courses in the state from the academic year 2022-23, the same as students taking admission in State quota.
