Haryana bond policy: PGIMS agitating students to boycott exams

After nearly one and half month of protest against the bond policy related to the MBBS admission, now the agitating students of Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) in Rohtak, Haryana, has written a letter to the Director of PGIMS expressing their "inability" to appear for the annual examinations, which will begin on December 26, 2022.

As per the Edexlive report, the students have said in the letter that they have been protesting for 44 days which is still going on and they have missed their classes and clinical postings. Hence, they said it is not possible for them to appear for the upcoming University exams.

“We have been sitting on dharna against the bond policy since November 1. We have written a letter to the PGIMS director to boycott the exams, starting from December 26. Our classes have been hampered for the last one and a half months. We have decided to boycott the exam as we don’t want this bond policy to be applied to us. The government should implement all the promises made to the protesting medical students in a meeting with the chief minister,” said a protesting student, as reported by Hindustan Times.

The students are protesting against the INR 40 lakh bond for medical admissions in Haryana. Despite some amendments in the policy by the state government, the students are not ready to give up the strike until the government announces a completely bond-free admission of MBBS courses in Haryana.
