Madhya Pradesh to set up more medical colleges under PPP, reiterates Vishwas Sarang
The MP medical education minister Vishwas Sarang has said that to strengthen the health infrastructure of the state, the government is all set to set up more medical colleges in the state under the PPP mode.
While addressing a session on ‘Health Care and Pharmaceuticals Investments: Reshaping Global Health Value Chain’, during the PBD convention state's minister of medical education Vishwas Sarang said the state government would set up more medical colleges in the state under the public-private partnership mode.
He said, “We are working to develop health infrastructure in the state swiftly for which we will establish more medical colleges under the PPP model. The investment in establishing a medical college is around INR 500 crore but it will decrease to INR 289 crore in the PPP mode as we will hand over our district hospitals to the medical colleges and also provide 25-acre land for free to them in a 10 km radius area,” as reported by Free Press Journal.
“There are 12 more medical colleges in the pipeline. We are working on the theme of ‘Heal in India, Heal by India’ to increase medical tourism in the state,” he added.
The 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) convention is to be held in Indore from January 8 to 10. Prime minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the event today, January 9.
President Droupadi Murmu will present the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman awards during the valedictory session on January 10. The theme of the 17th PBD is "Diaspora: Reliable Partners for India's Progress in Amrit Kaal.
“The event will showcase and discuss the vision of New India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the next 25 years and the key role to be played by NRIs (Pravasi Bharatiyas) in this context,” stated a government release.
