Mansukh Mandaviya stresses transforming all AIIMS into institutes of global excellence
While chairing the sixth Central Institute Body (CIB) meeting of all new AIIMS in Bhubaneswar, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya urged the officials to steadfastly work towards enabling AIIMS to compete with the best in the world.
Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya chaired the sixth Central Institute Body (CIB) meeting of all new AIIMS on Sunday in Bhubaneswar. He urged all AIIMS directors to create innovative models of functioning for better patient care and to compete with the best in the world.
He stressed providing superior quality of clinical care, the highest standards of medical education and cutting-edge research at all AIIMS for them to transform into institutes of global excellence.
He asked the gathered representatives of all the AIIMS institutes to learn from other institutes of national importance like the IITs and IIMs.
"This CIB is not only for review of the compliance of earlier decisions but is also a Chintan Shivir (Thought Camp) for pooling in insights, fresh ideas, innovative thoughts and suggestions based on rich experience and expertise of all participants," Mandaviya said, as reported by Edexlive.
He emphasised the need for the creation of metadata for AI and a professional work culture that can provide superior outcomes.
Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar asked the delegates to study the functioning model of globally successful medical institutions and implement the best practices locally.
Other issues discussed during the meeting were a sustainable financial model, enhancing patient satisfaction and use of information and communications technology (ICT) as an enabler, management and governance paradigms and managing human resources, reaping economies of scale in procurement, Vision 2030, outcome-based collaborative research and use of AI.
