58 PG Scholars from various Siddha medical colleges in Tamil Nadu and Kerala are admitted to 8 specialities at the National Institute of Siddha based on their merit rank from the AIAPGET test through AYUSH counselling and Institute counselling.

National Institute of Siddha organises Induction Day Programme for PG Scholars

The induction day programme for newly joined PG Scholars for the academic year 2022-2023 was conducted on April 10, 2023, in the multipurpose hall of Ayothidoss Pandithar Hospital, attached to the National Institute of Siddha.

“58 PG Scholars from various Siddha medical colleges in Tamilnadu and Kerala are admitted to 8 specialties in this institute based on their merit rank from the AIAPGET test through AYUSH counselling and Institute counselling,” tweeted the National Institute of Siddha.

Prof. Dr. R. Meenakumari, Director, welcomed all the newcomers and conveyed her wishes for joining PG courses at this institute. She also insisted that they utilise the infrastructure and resources available at the institute to develop their skills for their careers.

The dean, hospital superintendent, and HoDs of all the departments felicitated the newcomers. The senior PG scholars shared their experiences in NIS for their personal growth and development.

The new PG Scholars also expressed their views and their plans to update themselves through the huge footfall of patients in the hospital.

Session on “Role of Siddha in COVID-19 Management” at the National Institute of Siddha

Prof. Dr G. J. Christian, HoD, Dept. of Noi Naadal, NIS, conducted a special scientific session on " Role of Siddha in COVID-19 Management and its Scientific Outcomes" amid the students of B.S.M.S. Dr. G. J. Christian thoroughly explained the series of events that took place during the COVID pandemic with reference to Kabasura Kurdineer.

Starting from literary evidence to scientific validation, the procedures followed for the treatment regiment guidelines and recommendations put forth by the Ayush Ministry for COVID-19 were presented in this session.

The session ended with the presentation of various scientific research articles on Kabasura Kudineer and other Siddha management strategies for the COVID pandemic.
