The NEET MDS 2024 exam is currently scheduled to take place on March 18, 2024, with admit cards set to be released on March 13, 2024.

Following the footsteps of prominent student organizations like FORDA India and All India Students Union, the National Medicos Organisation (NMO) has added its voice to the growing demand for the postponement of the NEET MDS 2024 exam. In a letter addressed to Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), the NMO has emphasized the urgent need to address the concerns of aspiring dental professionals.

The letter, signed by the NMO, highlights several key issues surrounding the NEET MDS 2024 exam:

Ineligibility Due to COVID-19 Impact: Approximately 5,000 students have been deemed ineligible for the NEET MDS exam due to delays in academic sessions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and their participation in pandemic-related duties.

Supreme Court's Directive for Parity: The Supreme Court has previously directed authorities to ensure parity between NEET MDS and NEET PG exams regarding exam scheduling and eligibility criteria.

Discrepancy in Exam Dates: While the National Board of Examinations (NBE) rescheduled NEET PG to accommodate maximum aspirants after conducting a nationwide survey, no such effort was made by the Dental Council of India (DCI) for NEET MDS, resulting in disparities in exam dates.

High Number of Ineligible Candidates: Recent data reveals that a significant number of candidates, totaling 4,607, have been disqualified from appearing in the NEET MDS 2024 exam due to eligibility issues extending until September.

Appeal for Justice: Students are seeking justice to be allowed to sit for the exam despite their ineligibility, citing their involvement in serving the nation during the COVID-19 crisis and the subsequent impact on their academic sessions.

The NMO expresses concern over the perceived lack of proficiency and empathy displayed by the current Dental Council of India leadership towards student careers and calls for immediate action, suggesting a change in leadership to adopt a more inclusive approach.

In conclusion, the NMO earnestly requests the Union Minister to consider rescheduling the NEET MDS exam to accommodate the maximum number of aspirants and ensure fairness in the selection process.

As the clamor for exam postponement gains momentum, aspiring dental professionals across the nation await a response from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare regarding their plea for a fair and equitable resolution to the NEET MDS 2024 exam conundrum.
