DMRC to begin its services by 6 am on Sunday, i.e September 13, 2020. NEET 2020 exam is scheduled to be held on the same day.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that it will begin its service this Sunday, i.e. September 13, 2020, from 6 am on all sections. This will be the first Sunday after Delhi metro has resumed its services, which coincides with NEET 2020 exams. On September 7, DMRC resumed its services in several phases after it got approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs. For almost six months, metro services were shut owing to the Covid-19-related lockdown.

"DMRC will begin its services from 6 am this Sunday. “This Sunday, 13th September, Metro operations will start at 6:00 AM on all sections. Starting next Sunday, 20th September, regular timings as per earlier time table with services starting at 8:00 AM on Phase 3 sections (on Sundays) will continue,” DMRC tweeted.

Generally, services used to start at 8 am on Sundays before the lockdown. The schedule will continue from September 20 as well. The timing change is only a special arrangement for September 13.

Several states have resumed their local transport services to help students reach exam centres without any hassle. The Metro Railway in Kolkata has also announced to run special services on September 13 to help the aspirants reach NEET exam centres. The Kolkata metro also announced that on the NEET exam day candidates can use their NEET 2020 admit cards to avail the special services.

This year, the NEET exam has been delayed due to a coronavirus outbreak in the country. The Union Health Ministry has also released a modified SOP for holding exams during the ongoing pandemic situation. The revised SOP include scrapping the provision that permitted symptomatic candidates to take the test in an isolated room. Ahead of NEET 2020, the revised guidelines released by the Ministry of Health states that asymptomatic aspirant should be referred to the nearest health centre and provided a chance to appear for the test through other modes or the educational institution shall make provisions for taking the exam at a later date when the student is deemed fit.
